Terms of Service

These terms cover accounts, free reading and use of Loomtale at https://www.loomtale.app. Paid access is described separately in the Subscription Terms.

1. Who operates Loomtale

The service provider is Piqle inc., a corporation incorporated in Delaware, United States (Delaware file number 2644967), at 919 North Market Street, Suite 950, Wilmington, DE 19801, United States. Contact: info@piqle.io; telephone: +1 (813) 535-9353. See Business and Contact Information.

Loomtale provides browser-based interactive fiction. Your choices affect a story along its available authored paths. Stories are entertainment, not professional advice or promises about real-world outcomes.

2. Your account and agreement

The first episode of an available story can be read without an account or payment card. Creating an account is free and does not start a subscription, paid trial or recurring charge. You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use an account and buy a subscription only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms for you and is responsible for any purchase.

To register, actively accept these terms. Acknowledging the Privacy Notice does not authorize marketing or recurring payments. A subscription requires its own purchase confirmation and separate express agreement to automatic renewal.

Use an email address you control and protect your sign-in credentials. Do not impersonate someone else, share accounts commercially or use a payment method without authorization. Notify support if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. The service and your saved reading

Available stories and published episodes are shown in the catalogue. “Coming soon” identifies content that is not available. A preview is not a promise of a release date. Subscriptions do not purchase ownership of files or pre-order unpublished work.

Guest progress and bookmarks are stored in the browser. Clearing site data, using private browsing or changing devices can remove unsynced progress. Supported saves sync after sign-in; the interface reports synchronization errors or conflicts. Contact support before clearing browser data if a save appears to be missing.

You need a compatible current browser with JavaScript and an internet connection. The service does not promise offline access, a downloadable application or physical delivery. We make reasonable efforts to maintain access and address material defects; internet service and device availability remain outside our control.

4. Permission to use content

We grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access available content for personal, non-commercial reading during the relevant free access or paid period. Buying access does not transfer copyrights or permit resale, unauthorized full-text publication or commercial reuse of artwork, audio or stories.

You may use personal export and saving functions offered by the reader. Exceptions allowed by applicable copyright law, including lawful quotation and fair use where applicable, are preserved. Report a rights concern using the Service Rules.

5. Acceptable use

Do not attack the service, introduce malicious code, access another person's account without authority, bypass paid-access controls, fraudulently obtain refunds or systematically copy protected content without permission. Restrictions do not prohibit activity that cannot lawfully be restricted.

This version does not offer public user posts, a public comment system, user media uploads or a marketplace between readers. Separate terms would be required for material new features of that kind.

6. Suspension and closure

We may temporarily restrict affected functions when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, a security incident or a material breach. Where lawful and safe, we explain the reason and how to challenge the decision. Any response should be proportionate; suspension does not erase valid refund rights.

You can stop using the service, cancel renewal or request account deletion. Signing out or deleting browser data does not cancel a subscription. When support receives an authenticated deletion request for a subscribing account, it also arranges to stop future charges, while retaining records required by law.

If we discontinue a paid service or materially remove paid access, we will provide appropriate notice and the remedies required by these terms and applicable law, including a refund for access we no longer provide.

7. Consumer rights and responsibility

We do not promise that every device, connection or browser will operate without interruption. If paid access is defective, contact us so we can restore it or provide the applicable remedy. Nothing excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer guarantees and liability for fraud or other non-excludable conduct.

These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, waive class proceedings, require you to waive statutory remedies or make contacting support a prerequisite to exercising legal rights. You may contact your bank or the relevant authority about a disputed transaction.

8. Changes and applicable protections

The version and date appear on this page. We will give appropriate advance notice of material contractual changes and obtain fresh consent where required. Changes do not retrospectively reduce paid-period rights. An increased recurring price is not charged without fresh agreement under our subscription policy.

Mandatory consumer law in your place of residence remains applicable where it protects you. These terms do not select an exclusive court that removes a consumer's right to use a competent local court. Questions and notices go to the business contacts above.

9. Intended sales territories and local rights

The English-language subscription is intended for customers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. Purchase availability and any applicable local restrictions must be disclosed before payment. The language of the website does not determine your residence or remove mandatory local protections.

For customers in the United States and Canada, applicable federal, state, provincial and territorial consumer protections continue to apply. Choosing an English interface does not waive any mandatory right to receive contractual information in another language.

For customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland, applicable rights concerning digital content and services, statutory cancellation and remedies remain available. The commercial refund policy does not shorten a statutory period or replace a required withdrawal procedure.

For customers in Australia and New Zealand, applicable consumer guarantees and remedies for failures of the service are not excluded or limited by these terms or by the initial commercial refund period.
